Rocky Acres Farm 95 Chace Hill Road Sterling, Mass
Rocky Acres Farm LLC is presently owned and operated by the Favreau Family. We are located in Sterling, MA the home of the world famous Mary's Little Lamb. The farm occupies approximately 80 acres all used for farming, on the north side of the Wachusett Reservoir.
In 1938, Wilfred Favreau purchased the property from the Bosely's to maintain and operate a dairy farm. The farm was later transfered to Lawrence Favreau whom owned and operated Favreau Cleaners, a dry cleaning service. Lawrence operated the Cleaner and the dairy herd, then transitioned it to a Black Angus Beef herd.
The farm was then transfered to Lawrence's son, Lawrence R. Favreau, who had just returned from active service in the Army to the great United States of America. Lawrence R. continued to maintain the Angus Beef herd and added Yorkshire cross swines and Suffolk cross sheep. Along with operating the farm Lawrence R. maintained employment off site as a heavy equipment operator.
In 2002, the farm transfered to the present Rocky Acres Farm LLC. The Farm currently consists of 80 acres of farmed land including over 60 Simmental Angus and Hereford Beef Cattle, and an additional 100 acres of off-site farming.
